It had potential. It really did. My "alternative Christmas cake" that is. The recipe was basically a carrot cake with some added spices, brandy, nuts and dried fruit so in theory it should have been a match made in heaven.
The reality however is that it has the consistency of a Christmas pudding with a carrot cake topping (albeit a nice one) and an overwhelming flavour of cardamom. It gets a big fat yuck from me. Oh well, onwards and upwards. I should have taken note of Kirstie Allsopp's flop with that dodgy lavender and rosemary shortbread she made for a country fare which I saw on TV today. That too was a disaster. Tradition tends to win for a reason.
Today I wanted to wear a dress with some colour in it, so my china blue Cos dress made an appearance. Combined with a skinny rib M&S polo neck the outfit ticked my two most important boxes of warmth and comfort. Polo necks are going to be returning big style and they are a great layering piece, turning a slightly lighter weight dress into something more wearable over the winter. So if you like the look and/or the idea, have a think whether you have anything in your wardrobe with which you could do the same.
Sorry about the slightly blurred photo. There are various reasons for it which I won't bore you with but on the whole I quite like the slightly out of focus, softer look. It makes me think that I can still get away with a £10 face cream from Boots when the reality is that I probably should be taking much more extreme measures.
Actually, I may be wrong about the cake. My husband has just tried it and said "I would be dead chuffed if I had made that cake." Hmmm.

ReplyDeleteThankfully, there's a second sexcam part to the way Apple seems to be large enough and diverse enough to be adequate. The generally accepted wisdom is that if you compare the device against the iPhone 3 GS -- but this is a breath of fresh air. I am incredibly happy, and I usually take the opportunity to do so many reloads when switching between tabs or moving back and forward through history.
